Condolence: Dear Elaine and Family
It is with deep sadness we learned of John's passing.Living next door to you on Garden Road we shared many great times and personal trials and joys of each of our families lives. You were always so generous with your 'Steam Whistle 'and invitations to chat on daily events, not to mention family gatherings where we were always welcome. Our family loved living next door to you and we have wonderful memories of happy times together.
Much love, The Emersons.

Condolence: I was very sorry sad to hear the sad news about John.
In 1971-1972, I worked in the Project Planning Office at the Ministry of Transportation and reported to John who was a Senior Planner. He was always ready to listen to any concerns or ideas that I had and was very supportive of my work.

I have rarely seen him since those days but have always remembered that time.

He was a very talented man and will be sorely missed

Condolence: I am so very sorry to learn the sad news of John's Passing. We were close school friends in Burton on Trent at Uxbridge Infants/Juniors and then at Burton Grammar School, where we were half-backs in the Rugby team.

We met again in Canada when I was living in Houston, and I stayed with John & Elaine for a very enjoyable visit, including trips with them to see Niagara Falls & other places in the Toronto area.

Our thoughts are with you and your family at this time,
Fondest Regards, John & Jean

Condolence: I was deeply saddened to hear of John's passing, but comforted knowing that Elaine has the support she will need as and when she is able to take tentative steps to move forward.

As a young Banker, I emigrated with my first wife to Peterborough, Ontario, where we soon became good friends with John and Elaine. Moving back to the UK in 1972, I soon got immersed into International Banking and moved to the United States, raised a family and so on.

I did not see John and Elaine again until 2014, when i visited my many cousins in Lindsay, Ontario along with my 2nd wife (Moira), following a holiday in the Maritimes. As my cousins had arranged for John and Elaine to visit as a surprise, the years just peeled back when the seeds of recognition eventually sunk in!!

My next visit to Canada was in December 2015, following Moira's premature death in a freak accident. I stayed with John and Elaine for a few days before proceeding to Lindsay, to spend Christmas with my Canadian family. I knew that John was unwell, but those few days with such wonderful people from my past, had a profound effect on how i started to deal with my grief. John and I went for a long walk around the lake and I felt then, as I do today, somehow spiritually uplifted. John's calm and considered approach to matters, was so darn refreshing!

His memory is with me and along with Elaine, part of the tight group of family and friends, I feel blessed to have in my life.

Condolence: I am saddened to learn that John has left us. During my tenure as President of Consulting Engineers of Ontario, John was one of the Chairmen that I reported to. It was a wonderful experience to work with John. He was certainly a leader in the industry, a quiet person who led by example. Of greater importance he was a compassionate. caring individual who will be missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Condolence: I am so very sorry to hear of John's passing. I first met John at the Ministry of Transportation when a group of professional engineers came from England to work for the Ministry in the 60's. I remember him as a kind and gentle soul, and so easy to talk to. John and his wife lived in an apartment right across the street on Wilson Ave. so he had a short walk to get to work. I also remember him at a later date, leaving the Ministry to further his career with a consulting firm. I know his family has a lot of very fond memories of him, just as I do, and if you keep those memories close to your heart, John will continue to live on. My deepest sympathies to all of John's family.
