Passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones on September 25th 2017 at the age of 91 in Mississauga, a city she called home since 1956 after emigrating from Flambruzzo, Italy. She was a devoted wife, a caring mother, proud nonna, and a powerful presence in all our lives. Loving wife of the late Galliano and dear mother to Giuseppe (Joe), Renato, and Luciano. Cherished nonna to Kayla, Colin, and Sarah, aunt to Italo (Maria, and great-aunt to Franca (Murray), Suzie and Lorenzo. She will also be sadly missed by close family friends, Claire Sovran and the Moretons. Lelia was born May 29th 1926, youngest child of Vincenzo Meret and Rosa Paron. Lelia had a passion for cooking; you could often find her making breaded zucchini flowers, eggplant parmesan and polenta, using ingredients straight from her meticulously maintained vegetable garden. Gardening in general was a passion of hers, along with caring for her family and friends.
Mrs. Carneletto is resting at the funeral home of Skinner & Middlebrook Ltd, 128 Lakeshore Rd. E (1 block west of Hurontario St) Mississauga on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church 625 Atwater Ave (At Cawthra) on Friday, September 29, 2017 at 11 am. Interment Assumption Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated. A special thank you to Monsignor Terence D'Souza.
