Obituary for Nelson Samuel Mills

Nelson Samuel Mills
Mills, Nelson Samuel.
It is with profound sadness that we announce Nelson passed away in his 87th year at home, surrounded by family on Nov 3rd, 2017. Beloved husband of Jill Mills, proud and loving father of Chris (Connie), Jamie, Billy (Debbie), Jimmy (Fiona), and Gary. He is survived by his sisters Jean & Marjorie, and his brother Alvin.
Nelson was born May 2, 1931 in Lakeview, Ontario the 8th child of Laura and Garfield Mills and had a happy and eventful childhood growing up on his family farm. Grandfather of 11 (Dylan, Logan, Destiny, Liam, Brandon, Scarlett, Owen, Thomas, Christina, Curtis, and Jeffery).
Nelson was a kind and gentle man who was always happiest when surrounded by his family and grandchildren. His humourous nature always put people at ease and he would give you the shirt off his back if someone needed a helping hand. He will always be remembered for his gentle manner, quiet strength, relaxed outlook on life, and his passion for dancing.
We will remember him every time we hear gospel or country music.
Rest in Peace Nelson. We all love you.
To honor and remember Nelson, visitation will be 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Monday, Nov 6 at Skinner & Middlebrook Funeral Home located at 128 Lakeshore Rd E, Mississauga, Ontario with a funeral service on Tuesday Nov 7 at 1pm in the chapel.
In lieu of flowers a donation to Providence Healthcare ADP (Adult Day Program) would be appreciated as they did an excellent job of helping Nelson cope with his Alzheimer’s during the last 5 years of his life.
