It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the unexpected passing of Stephen John Hudson on November 11th in Oakville, Ontario at the age of 60.
Steve is survived by his wife, Theresa; his children, Matt (Carla), Katie (Brad), and Alex (Meghan); his granddaughter, Sloane; his siblings, Barb (Rick), John (Kelly), Sandy (Henry), Jill (Rob), Cheryl (Alice) and Paul (Sheilagh); and his best friend, Mike “the Hippy” Ellerton. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Shirley. His in-laws, John and the late Eileen Holland, Dave (Gwen), John (Carol Ann), Margaret (Randy), Mary Anne (Dan), and Eileen (Jerry).
Steve was born on March 14th, 1957. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Theresa, for 38 years. His work on the railway with VIA lead his family’s move to Halifax. This is where Steve was able to coach and help build Halifax Dunbrack Soccer Club to follow his passion for soccer. He returned to Ontario to watch his children continue their education and completed his career with Air Liquide. Steve enjoyed retirement to the fullest, spending more time with his family and friends.
Steve will be resting at Skinner & Middlebrook Funeral Home, 128 Lakeshore Road East, Mississauga, Ontario on Friday, November 17th from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, November 18th at 1 p.m. at Skinner & Middlebrook Funeral Home, with a reception to follow at the Brogue Inn, 136 Lakeshore Road East, Mississauga, Ontario. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Steve’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Oakville & Milton Humane Society in Steve’s honour (https://www.gifttool.com/donations/Donate?ID=2044&AID=4113).
