Obituary for Aileen Waters (MacRae)

Aileen Waters passed away peacefully at the Mississauga Trillium Hospital on December 26, 2017 at the age of 86.
She was a caring, generous woman of incredible grace, and she leaves a large void in our hearts. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a loyal friend to many.
Aileen was born in Montreal in 1931; she moved to Toronto where she attended North Toronto Collegiate High School, where she met her husband Donald Waters. She was always involved in the community, volunteering for Meals on Wheels and Credit Valley Hospital. As well as raising four children, she worked part time over the years at the Salvation Army and Stavebank Medical Group.
Aileen was very active and had a passion for tennis; she played at the Lynwood and WhiteOaks tennis clubs. She enjoyed playing bridge, going to aquafit and her regular visits to Tim Hortons.
She and Don enjoyed travelling, the theatre and family events. Aileen’s maiden name was MacRae, she was proud of her Scottish heritage and enjoyed listening to the bagpipes.
Her happiest moments were when she was surrounded by her family including the MacRae clan and friends. She is survived by her husband Donald Waters and their children/partners: Donna (Jim) Green, Rick (Donna) Waters, Steve Waters, Lauren (Sophie Delaigue) Waters. She was a proud grandmother to Billy, Jeffrey, Jason, Ryan, Shayne, Roger and John, and a great grandmother to Hannah and Kai.. She was predeceased by her brother, Jack MacRae.
Aileen will be sadly missed by so many. She is leaving an indelible mark in our heart and we will always remember her kind smile, dedication to family and her generosity to all.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday December 30th, 2017 at the Parkland on the Glen, 1665 The Collegeway, Mississauga from 2 pm to 4 pm.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, the Salvation Army or the Cancer Society of Canada.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at the Trillium Hospital ICU, the kind residents and staff at the Parkland.
