Condolence From: Debbie Mulkins(nee Mason)
Condolence: When I think of Mr. McKechnie, it is always with a smile. He was a great friend to my parents, Don and Lorraine Mason and to our family. My condolences to his children and grandchildren as they have lost a wonderful man.

Condolence: I had Mr McKechnie for grade 11 English at Scarlett Heights Collegiate in Etobicoke in 1969/70. I Remember him for his humour and the feeling that he deeply cared for his students. He was the first English teacher I had that made classes “fun”. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Condolence: Don was so full of life and humour, it is hard to grasp that he is not with us any more. Sharon and I send our deepest sympathies to Alex and Rhiannon and families, Marjorie and Lois and all those who knew and loved Don. He was a mentor to me, and a good friend who enriched my life in many ways. Don was a man with a "song in his heart" and he somehow was able to pass that joy of living along to others. He is missed.

Condolence: Very saddened to hear this news. Mr. McKechnie was a teacher of mine at Clarkson Secondary School back in the late 80s. He was truly one of the best teachers I ever had: his classes were fun and inspiring. I think every one of his students felt that he really cared.

Condolence: So very sorry to hear that Don has passed. He was a wonderfully imaginative, funny, endearing teacher and colleague with a depth of humanity in all he did. He left deep impressions on all who worked with him, was enormously kind, and a legendary teacher! Don always thought of what was best for students, shared so much with colleagues of his insight into teaching and literature. I am grateful for the chance to have learned so much teaching with him in my early years in the profession. He truly will be missed!

Condolence: My deepest condolences and prayers to his family & friends. He was the rarest of teachers. He truly cared. He took the time you needed. He was always my favourite teacher. No other compared. I've even told my children and husband about him many times. He will be missed. May his soul rest in peace.
