Obituary for William Farquhar

William Farquhar
William Farquhar
It is with heavy hearts at this time that we announce the peaceful passing of this man on the evening of Wednesday, April 4th, 2018 at the Mississauga Hospital while surrounded by both immediate and extended family members.
Son of James Albert and Margaret Farquhar, William (Bill/Billy) was born on April 5th, 1946 in West Derby, England and raised in Aberdeen, Scotland along side elder Sister Carol.
Immigration to Canada was as a young man in his late teens after a period of Sailing around the world during his time as a Merchant Marine.
It was after his immigration to Canada that he met the love of his life and eventual Wife to be, Mary Sloan from Belfast, Northern Ireland. They married on July 10, 1971.
He was afforded a good life in his new country of choice as a result of a lengthy career at Kodak Canada Inc., which was located in an area of Toronto formally and most commonly known Weston.
His legacy will be carried on through his children Jerome, Glenn and Elizabeth, as well as Grandchildren Ronan and Clara.
Family and friends were the things that he held closest to his heart. There were many different occasions spent with these people, and as a result, great memories for all. He was loved and will be missed by the Forbes, Healys and the Sloans in Canada, the Murphys and Sloans in Ireland, the McLeods in Scotland, and the Sloans and Taylors in New Zealand, as well as the Spouses of these individuals, their children, and in some cases their children’s children.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the various Doctors, Nurses and other Staff of the Mississauga Hospital that tended to him while under your care. You treated him with respect and dignity, Showed compassion to the family, and ultimately assisted in providing him a peaceful passing.
A service will be held on Monday, April 9th, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Catherine of Sienna Church, 2340 Hurontario Street, Mississauga for any of those wishing to attend and pay your final respects. This will later be followed by a Celebration of Life.
