My deepest sympathies to the Family. Uncle John, such a strong, loving gentleman you were. You will be remembered for always including my mother Millie in everything you did. For always caring for her and my welfare, always asking if we were okay and if we needed anything. You were there like a rock for me after my mother's passing. We mourned her together and had deep and long talks about the life that you, Mom, and Auntie Mary enjoyed over the last years. Thank you also for your guidance, and your suggestion that I put my son Michael into the cadet service you started when I had some trouble with him as a teenager. Without your guidance, he might never have joined this wonderful organization, and never would have turned out half as well as he did today. I will miss our Christmas breakfasts. Oh my goodness could this house get any louder? Card games with you Mom and Auntie Mary all yelling that the other was cheating. Me slapping at your hand when you were trying to peek under the card deck to see which one was next LOL. You and your Santa apron and hat that I bought you for when you were always cooking Christmas breakfast. Nobody was allowed to do the eggs but you and everybody had to be out of the kitchen while you were working. Me joking that you were demanding this so that you could poison us all lol. Your eggs always turned out perfect and we survived. I will miss you checking in on me every time you saw me and making sure I was okay. Always asking me if I had enough money for what I needed. I was always okay, and never needed to take you up on your generous offers, but to know that you were concerned about about me, meant the world to me. For always making sure that " that young man of yours was taking care of you and treating you properly". Thank you. I will miss our long talks, even though at times they would get into heated debates about life in general in today's society, and especially how he heated our debates would get over anything to do with Cuba. You drove me crazy, and I drove you crazy. We argued about it these things knowing that we were doing it with love and a strong differences of opinion. Always there to give advice, or to listen, or to laugh, or yes... to argue about things in life. I always knew I'd have a good and entertaining conversation with you! You truly were a favorite Uncle to me. And you will be sorely missed. I love you Uncle John.
